POND WEED RAKES FOR SALE
The design of these pond weed rakes has been perfected over many years at our own ponds (Carleton Hill Fishery) and many others including the legendary (but at times v.weedy) Redmire Pool. The double sided rake head is cut from 3mm mild steel using laser profiling technology to produce a strong rake with perfectly smooth edges. The head measures 12" and has 12 x 2.5" pointed teeth on each side, that dig into the silty Lake bed and remove many species of weed by the roots(unlike many other designs out there that simply break off the weed only for it to grow back within a week!). At just 850gm they are light enough to be to thrown up to at least 20metres yet heavy enough to sink into the silt and remove weed by the roots. Particularly effective against the prolific Canadian pond weed (Elodea species) and Fennel-leaved pond weed (Potamogetan species) as well as blanket weed and many others. Each one is individually fabricated in the UK from British materials by a British craftsman. The rope is approximately 20meters of 6mm nylon Rope with a galvanized shackle and splicing thimble with the splicing protected by shrink-tube. Whether you want to remove a sub-marine forest of Canadian pond weed or simply run a rake through a swim once to stir it up and get the bottom feeders fizzing. These rakes are not only good for removing pond weed but they can also be used to stir up your swim to help induce winter feeding. I have also found that they are extremly effective at removing autumn derbris and lost lines from your pond. These really are the Rolls Royce of weed rakes!
