FISHING NEWS
W/E Sunday 27th December 2009
Well that was 2009 a year in which much improvements were made to the paths around the Tree's and Wire's ponds, a year of some of the best pleasure fishing to date and a reasonably attended and successful summer match league. Chris Scott won the league with an awsome 130 points and his name went onto Cumbria's highest match fishing accolade once more. In second place with 69 points was Chris Bendle and Mally Miller was third with 64 points. The 2010 match league of 20 matches will start on thursday 15th April draw at 6.0pm fishing 6.30pm till 10pm as before.
The ponds have been mostly frozen over for about a week now but I have been running the Aerator on the Trees pond every morning and keeping at least pegs 4,5, 10 and 11 fishable and most of the fish will now have retreated down to this end of the pond. Small roach and Perch are still game as are the occasional Carp feeder fishing in the middle with corn or maggots.
We are now past the shortest day and Snowdrop shoots are pushing sky-wards so remember "there's no such thing as bed weather, only the wrong clothes" so go fishing, NOW!
