FISHING NEWS
W/E Sunday 14th JUNE 2009
The eighth match of the 2009 Summer league of 20 matches took place on thursday evening and was held on the Wires Pond. The match was won by young Chris Bendle (Benders) with an excellent bag of silver fish (Roach, Ide and Hybrids) weighing in at 13lb 3oz. Second place was secured by last years league winner Josh Hamilton with 10lb 7oz again mostly silver fish. An "out of form and on the wrong peg" Chris Scott was unlucky to only secure third place from peg 19 with 10lb 3oz of Crucian Carp, Skimmers, Carp and Roach. The golden peg fund rolled over yet again and will be a whopping £188 for next thursday 18th June. The next three mid-summer matches will also be held on the Wires pond also since day-light hours will permit this. Chris Scott is flying high at the top of the leader board with 56 points and at the moment second place is the best many can hope for! Second is Josh Hamilton with 24 points, third Benders with 22 points and fourth Ben McReddie with 21 points.
Pleasure anglers have been enjoying excellent sport on all ponds with good mixed bags particularly early in the morning.
