FISHING NEWS
W/E Sunday 9th August 2009
With only three matches of the 2009 Summer league remaining Chris Scott is now uncatchable with a whopping 104 points and 45 points ahead of the field. He can now afford to take time out to go to Christenings, Golf matches etc happy in the knowlege that his name will be on Cumbrias most prestigious and sought after Angling Trophy yet again. In true sportsman-like fasion some of the other competitors have now given up at the first sniff of defeat (how sad ......like spoiled children!). Last weeks match was won by an "on-form" Chris Bendle with 17lb 5oz which included three Carp of 3-5lb using his very effective and top secret new tactics on peg 6! Second place was secured by this years league winner Chris Scott with 14lb 10oz of Carp, Skimmers and quality Roach. Alan walsh was third with 14lb 6oz. The golden peg fund rolled over yet again and will be a whopping £230 for next thursday 13th August.
Pleasure anglers have been enjoying excellent sport on all ponds with good mixed bags and the Roach fishing in all the ponds has been superb this year. More Carp have been showing in the last three weeks or so also with plenty of fish in the 4-8lb bracket.
